The Eastside Boys Volleyball team played their 2nd round playoff game at Wade Hampton Wednesday night in front of a raucous crowd that was predominantly Eastside faithful. This marked the 3rd time this season the Eagles would face the Region 2 AAAA champs, with the last regular season match being won by the Generals by a total of 5 points. The third time would be the charm for the EHS Boys.

Wade Hampton came into the match as the Upstate's #1 seed in the SCHSL Playoffs. Eastside as the 5 seed was considered the underdog, but they came out with a lot of bite to their bark and won the first two sets. Wade recovered and took advantage of several mistakes by the Eagles to take sets 3 and 4. The Eagles, led by captains Connor Usher and Chase Noblitt did not let the moment be too big for them. They rallied the team to a 16-14 5th set victory to take the match and advance the Eagles to the Upper State Championship.

Eastside will take on the #3 seed Catawba Ridge Copperheads next Monday at 6:00 in Fort Mill, SC. The winner of that match will claim the title of Upper State Champions and move on to play in the State Championship Match on Thursday Nov. 4th.
